One way you can start to recognise your life patterns is by journaling once daily or more allows you to not only write down anything from the day but you will start to physically see a pattern and ones you may never have known about.
That way your logical mind can make sense of what is on the paper.
It also stimulates your nervous system and allows you to give yourself safety in expression.
However, i think it is more important we try to structure the journal as journaling just our emotions can sometimes become overwhelming and we can start to resent it.
Personally journaling is a basic foundation (as well as grounding meditation) that we need in order to ascend and remain balanced. Plus you don't need to be "spiritual" to journal.
